Basic knowledge
1.What is ShangMail?
ShangMail provides mobile device mail service based on Push Mail technology. It can push new e-mails to your mobile device in real-time and enables you to have easy access to your email anytime, anywhere. Receiving and sending email will be just as easy as you receive and send test messages. Why don't you give it a try?
2.What's the difference between ShangMail and other built-in mail client in mobile device?
You have to take initiative to visit your mail client to check whether there is a new mail, but ShangMail can push the new mail to your mobile device, so that you can receive the mail as conveniently as you receive a test message.
Registration
1.How to register a ShangMail username?
After you have downloaded and installed the ShangMail client,start the application and press Menu key to register a username.
2.Is the username the only way of registration?
Yes, the username that you are using is the only symbol to use ShangMail.
Installation
1.Should I link my mobile device to Internet to use ShangMail?
Yes, please make sure that your mobile device can be connected to the internet when using ShangMail and we support GPRS and WiFi connections.
2.What kinds of SIM cards are acceptable if the subscribers want to use ShangMail?
Generally, as long as your SIM card has subscribed to the data plan, you will be able to use ShangMail.
3.Can the subscriber receive or send attachment through ShangMail?
Definitely Yes! The subscriber can receive or send attachment of any formats. We also support attachment preview and downloading.
4.What kinds of mail box that ShangMail subscribers should have?
ShangMail supports almost all popular mail boxes, such as gmail, yahoo mail, AOL mail etc, only if they support POP3/IMAP4.
5.How many email addresses can be added to ShangMail?
You can add as many as 5 mail accounts.
Usage
1.Where do I add my own email account?
After you have registered a ShangMail username and logged in, select Mailbox management to add your email account.
2.How to add my company email account?
To add your company account, please make sure that your company email server supports POP3/IMAP4.
3.What is my mail server configuration information?
Generally, you may find these information in Settings option in the web page of your email account.
4.Shall I check the box labeled SSL?
The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a commonly-used protocol for managing the security of a message transmission on the Internet. Whether to check the box labeled SSL or not depends on your mail server configuration.
5.Why can't I receive the mail?
Please check whether your mobile device is normally linked to the internet, and then make sure that the ShangMail client is running. If you are still having problem in receiving email, please contact us at support@babeeta.com.
6.How can I know the mail is sent successfully?
All mails that have been sent successfully through ShangMail will be kept in the "sent mails" folder, while those in "outbox" folder is being sent.
7.How do mobile device installed with Windows receive or send e-mails?
Mobile device of this kind, such as Dopod series, send or receive e-mails through Outlook, the same as Short Messages, MMS and outlook.
8.How to set the internet connection for the cell phone?
For most cell phones, you don't have to set an access to Internet separately. If it is not set in your mobile device, please refer to your mobile service provider for the APN.
9.What will happen if my subscription has expired?
If your subscription has expired, ShangMail will stop working. Please go to ShangMail client on your mobile device to make the payment via PayPal or other payment methods.
10.Why do I receive email that I have sent when using Gmail?
Gmail will receive the email that you have sent, you may add your email address to the black list in the ShangMail client to avoid it.
11.Why does it take so long for the email to arrive on my mobile device?
Depending on the mobile network, it will take 1-10 minutes for email to arrive. If you have experienced delay in receiving email, you may also contact our support team to check on the issue.
For Symbian users
1.Why do I lose all my emails in my symbian device after upgrading ShangMail client?
When upgrading to a new version, we suggest that you may choose to install the new version over your current version. No need to uninstall first.
For BlackBerry users
1.What should I do when I get the message "Network error".
Please first check the signal of your mobile device. If the signal is fine, please check whether the APN of your mobile device is correct and reset your ShangMail client. If you still get this prompt, it may be because ShangMail is cutting off from the network connection, you may try to reboot your phone by removing the battery to solve the issue.
2.After importing the service book, why can't I see the Send option when replying a message?
If you are replying the message that has been received before importing the service book, there will be no Send option. If not, please check if there is desktop option under Service Book, please delete it and reboot your phone.
3.Why can't I open the attachment that I received?
Open Attachment is the feature that only BES or BIS users can use. Our service enables you to preview and download attachment. Move the cursor to the end of the message body and highlight the name of the attachment. Press menu key and select Download. The attachment will be stored in the default path: store/home/user. The attachment may be opened by a 3rd party software.
4.Why can't I send an attachment?
Please verify that you have selected Add Attachment not Attach File, as Attach File is the feature that only BES OR BIS users can use.
5.Why can't I find the attachment that I have just downloaded?
The default attachment storage path is store/home/user.
6.How to change the attachment storage path?
Click ShangMail icon-press Menu key-Setting-Configuration. Highlight the attachment storage path and press menu key to change to new path.
7.When trying to download an attachment, why do I keep getting the message that attachment downloading failed?
It may be because that your mobile device has BES Lock and you have to remove it first to be able to download attachment.
8.Why do I get the new message prompt when there is actually no new message?
If you are using the device with OS 4.2, you may try to reboot your phone by removing the battery to solve the issue. As the OS 4.2 has not been optimized very well by RIM.
